What is NPK compound fertilizer? Many people just know that crops need to use compound fertilizers, but they can't tell why, so what is compound fertilizer? In a chemical fertilizer, a fertilizer containing two or more of the main nutrients such as N, P, and K is called a compound fertilizer. Those containing two main nutrients are called binary compound fertilizers, those containing three main nutrients are called ternary compound fertilizers, and those containing more than three nutrients are called multi-component compound fertilizers.

Precautions for applying NPK compound fertilizer

1, moeten worden geclassificeerd en toegepast

Cereal crops such as rice, corn, and sorghum require more nitrogen fertilizer, and nitrogen and phosphorus compound fertilizers can be used. Legume crops can fix free nitrogen in the air, and phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers can be used. For commercial crops, ternary or multi-component compound fertilizers suitable for local soil and climatic conditions can be selected.

2. Het moet in verhouding worden gebruikt

NPK compound fertilizer should be applied together with elemental fertilizer, because the nutrients required by crops in different periods are different, and the nutrient composition of compound fertilizer is relatively fixed, and only the application in combination with elemental fertilizer can meet the growth needs of crops.

3. Scientific application is required

Different compound fertilizers have different nutrient composition ratios and forms, and the fertilization methods should be different, and for different soil types, the fertilization methods should also be different. Cohesive soils have strong fertility retention and should be applied deeply; sandy soils are easy to de-fertilize and can be applied in small amounts and multiple times. Compound fertilizers that can contain ammonium nitrogen should be applied deeply and covered with soil to reduce nutrient loss. Compound fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium should be concentrated near the root system to avoid nutrient fixation and facilitate crop absorption and utilization. Due to its high price, potassium dihydrogen phosphate is suitable as a top dressing outside the roots, and is generally not used as a base fertilizer.
